Vents VKM EC Series Metal Body Centrifugal Inline Fans are high-performance inline Centrifugal fans designed for applications that require strong airflow, higher static pressure and energy-efficient variable-speed operation.
Each VKM EC inline fan uses an electronically commutated (EC) motor paired with a backward-curved centrifugal impeller. EC motor technology provides precise speed control while reducing power consumption by approximately 35% compared with standard motors, making the VKM EC Series an efficient choice for residential, commercial and light-industrial ventilation systems.
High-Pressure Performance for Longer Duct Runs
Unlike basic axial inline fans, the VKM EC Series uses a backward-curved centrifugal impeller designed to maintain airflow when resistance increases within the duct system. This makes VKM EC fans particularly well suited to long duct runs, complex duct layouts, multiple bends and other higher-static-pressure ventilation applications.
The durable metal housing and in-line configuration allow the fan to be installed directly into standard round ductwork, providing a compact solution for both new ventilation systems and upgrades to existing duct systems.
Common VKM EC Applications
VKM EC centrifugal inline fans can be used for a wide range of residential and commercial ventilation applications, including:
- Bathroom exhaust ventilation
- General room and building exhaust
- Range hood and kitchen exhaust applications where appropriate
- Long or complex duct runs
- Duct system airflow enhancement
- Commercial ventilation systems
- Supply and exhaust air applications
- Applications requiring adjustable fan speed or airflow Energy-Efficient EC Motor Technology
The EC motor is one of the main advantages of the VKM EC Series. Unlike conventional single-speed motors, EC technology allows fan speed and airflow to be adjusted to better match the requirements of the ventilation system.
For applications requiring variable-speed control, the VKM EC Series can be paired with the Vents R-1/010 speed controller for EC motor fans.

VKM EC Inline Fan FAQs
What is a centrifugal inline fan?
A centrifugal inline fan uses a centrifugal impeller to move air through ductwork. Compared with a basic axial fan, centrifugal fans are generally better suited to ventilation systems where longer duct runs, bends or other restrictions create higher static pressure.
What is the advantage of an EC motor?
An electronically commutated (EC) motor provides energy-efficient operation and allows fan speed to be adjusted to match the airflow requirements of the ventilation system. VKM EC fans use approximately 35% less power than comparable standard-motor designs.
Are VKM EC fans suitable for long duct runs?
Yes. The backward-curved centrifugal impeller is designed to maintain airflow against higher resistance, making the VKM EC Series particularly suitable for longer or more complex duct systems.
Can the speed of a VKM EC fan be adjusted?
Yes. Vents VKM EC fans are designed for variable-speed operation and can be paired with a compatible EC motor speed controller such as the Vents R-1/010.
